1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Sip la Vie Explorer ("SLV," "we," "us," or "our") at siplavie.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Sip la Vie Explorer is an AI-powered walking tour generator using large language model technology provided by Anthropic. SLV is available under several tiers: Guest (free, 5 lifetime generations, no account required), Explorer (free account, unlimited generations, 1 saved tour), Trip Pass (paid, 6-week access), Voyager (annual subscription), and Connoisseur (annual subscription with highest limits and early feature access).
3. AI-Generated Content and Tour Accuracy
3.1 Nature of AI-Generated Tours. All walking tour itineraries, stop descriptions, directions, and recommendations are created by artificial intelligence and are not reviewed by professional tour guides or human editors before being presented to you. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete.
3.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy. SLV makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any tour content. We do not warrant that named locations exist or are accessible, that routes are safe or passable, that distances or directions are correct, or that any location is suitable for your physical ability or health conditions.
3.3 Your Responsibility. Before following any route, you are solely responsible for independently verifying locations, checking current opening hours and access restrictions, assessing whether the route suits your physical ability, and reviewing relevant local guidance.
3.4 Routes May Change. Roads, footpaths, and points of interest change frequently. SLV has no mechanism to detect or communicate real-world changes in real time. Always check local conditions before setting out.
4. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, RELIANCE ON TOUR CONTENT, PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE SUSTAINED WHILE FOLLOWING A TOUR, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS OR DATA LOSS.
5. User Accounts
To access paid features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information, use a strong password, notify us immediately of any unauthorised access, and not share your account with others.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the service, submit false or harmful prompts, circumvent rate limits or subscription tiers, use the service in violation of applicable laws, or resell AI-generated tour content as your own commercial product without written permission.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid tiers are processed through Stripe. Subscription fees are charged in advance. Trip Pass is valid for 6 weeks from purchase. Voyager and Connoisseur renew annually unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
8. Promotional Codes
Promotional codes are issued at our discretion, are non-transferable, and may have expiry dates. We reserve the right to modify or revoke promotional codes at any time. Expiring-downgrade codes will revert your account to the Explorer tier when the promotional period ends unless you have an active paid subscription.
9. Intellectual Property
The SLV platform, branding, and underlying technology are owned by Sip la Vie Explorer. You may use generated tours for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell, republish, or commercially exploit AI-generated tour content without our written permission.
10. Third-Party Services
SLV integrates with third-party services including Google Maps and Anthropic's AI platform. These are governed by their own terms, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
11. Disclaimers
SLV IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Walking tours are for informational and entertainment purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional travel guidance, medical advice, or safety assessments.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in the applicable jurisdiction.

1. Overview
Sip la Vie Explorer is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: email address, display name, account tier, and dates of account creation and last login. Passwords are stored as secure hashes — we never store plaintext passwords.
Tour input data: destination, preferences, and options you select when generating a tour. This input is sent to Anthropic's AI service and is subject to Anthropic's data handling practices.
Usage data: anonymised analytics via Google Analytics 4. This includes pages visited, features used, and general geographic region, and does not identify you personally.
Technical data: standard logs including IP addresses and request timestamps, used for security monitoring and rate limiting.
Guest users: if you use SLV without an account, we collect only technical data used for rate limiting. Guest usage is tracked against your browser session only.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the SLV service, generate AI tours, manage your account, send transactional emails (verification, password reset, subscription notices, data retention warnings), enforce rate limits, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for targeted advertising and do not sell it to third parties.
4. How AI Processing Works
Tour generation uses Anthropic's Claude AI. Only your tour inputs (destination, preferences) are sent to Anthropic — not your name, email, or account details. AI-generated outputs are not reviewed by humans at SLV before being displayed.
5. Data Retention
Inactive accounts (no login for 12 months) are scheduled for deletion. You will receive a 30-day warning email, then a 7-day final notice. Warning emails are opt-out. Active paid subscribers are never automatically deleted. Logging in resets the 12-month clock. On deletion, we remove your Cognito account, profile, promo redemptions, and all saved tours. Aggregate analytics with no personally identifiable information may be retained indefinitely.
6. Third-Party Services
We use Amazon Web Services (infrastructure and hosting), Anthropic (AI tour generation), Google Analytics 4 (anonymous usage analytics), Stripe (payment processing — we do not store card details), and Amazon Cognito (authentication).
7. Cookies and Tracking
Authentication tokens are stored in memory during your session only — never in localStorage or long-lived cookies. Google Analytics 4 may set cookies to track anonymous usage patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
8. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, cryptographic password hashing, in-memory-only auth token storage, rate limiting and abuse detection, input validation and sanitisation, and CORS restrictions on all API endpoints.
9. Your Rights
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact hello@siplavie.com. You may also delete your account at any time from account settings, which removes all personal data we hold.
